# Permissions and shared data

Last updated 30 September 2026

Once your portal is connected, this is what ThemeSpot can see, what it can change, and what it leaves alone.

## What ThemeSpot reads

ThemeSpot keeps a working copy of your site’s content so it can answer questions and plan changes quickly: pages, blog posts, templates, modules, forms, redirects, files and HubDB tables. It refreshes that copy from HubSpot as things change.

## What ThemeSpot can change

- **Drafts, straight away:** page and blog post copy, images, links, SEO fields, sections and layout, new page and post drafts, and HubDB rows.
- **Live changes, only with your approval:** publishing pages and posts, redirects, forms, blog authors and tags, and file uploads. See [Approvals and autonomy](https://themespot.app/docs/approvals?hsLang=en).

## What ThemeSpot leaves alone

These stay in HubSpot settings, and ThemeSpot doesn’t change them:

- Domains
- The navigation menu, and the global header and footer
- Contacts, CRM records and workflows
- HubSpot users and their permissions

## Your publishing key

If you add a HubSpot personal access key for theme deploys, it’s stored encrypted, only its last four digits are shown, and it’s used only for deploys you approve.

## A record of every change

Every change ThemeSpot makes is logged with what the content said before, so you can always see what changed and ask for it to be put back.

## Other websites

ThemeSpot only reads another website when you’ve allowed it, either one page at a time or by adding the site to your approved list.

## Removing access

Uninstall the app in HubSpot under **Settings → Integrations → Connected apps**. Your site keeps running, and ThemeSpot’s copy of your site data is deleted on request.

Runs alongside HubSpot. Never replaces it.

Your site is yours, forever. ThemeSpot is the bonus.
