Getting started
Connect your portal
Last updated 30 September 2026
Connecting takes a couple of minutes and changes nothing on your site. ThemeSpot reads your portal so it knows what’s there, and nothing is edited until you ask.
Before you start
- A HubSpot user who is a Super Admin, or who has permission to install apps.
- A HubSpot subscription that includes the CMS for site pages.
- A ThemeSpot account. Sign up with an email address and password at my.themespot.app/register. No card needed, and you start with 1,500 free tokens.
Connect your portal
- In ThemeSpot, go to Sites and choose Connect another site.
- Select Continue to HubSpot.
- Choose the portal you want to connect.
- Select Connect app to authorise ThemeSpot.
After connecting
ThemeSpot maps your site: pages, blog posts, templates and modules. The sync status shows on the site card, and In sync means the map is complete. Then you can start asking, for example: “Which pages have no meta description?”
Publishing key (theme deploys only)
You only need this if ThemeSpot will deploy theme changes. Go to Settings → Publishing and add a HubSpot personal access key with developer project permissions. The key is stored encrypted, only its last four digits are ever shown, and it’s used only for deploys you approve.
Disconnecting
In HubSpot, go to Settings → Integrations → Connected apps and uninstall ThemeSpot. Your site keeps running exactly as it is, and ThemeSpot’s copy of your site data is deleted on request.
